Let us set a few things straight. And by straight, I mean honest:
Hatch Voted Against Providing $19B For Military And Veterans Hospitals. Hatch voted against amendment to provide $19 billion for military and veterans hospitals, offset by limiting the dividend and capital-gains tax rates to individuals earning less than $1 million. [HR 4297, [...]

I made my way over to the “Support the Troops Freedom Rally” in Sugar House this morning expecting an anti-Democrat slug fest of speakers. I was pleasantly surprised, until the last two speakers, that this was an Honest-to-Pete pro-troop rally. For the most part.
The only anti-Democrat sentiments popped up from the event’s Master of Ceremonies, [...]

Today thousands of Democrats and other concerned citizens came out to Washington Square to stand up for our troops. It is obvious the status quo is not bringing the results repeatedly promised by the Bush Administration, and it was a privilege to witness so many citizens willing to take advantage of their First Amendment rights [...]

While James Evans, Jeff Hartley and other Republican leaders are venting, Governor Huntsman appears to be the voice of reason on the Republican side when it comes to expressions of dissent in the Beehive State. Instead of joining the chorus of Republican leaders equating protest in the United States of America with giving “aid and [...]

This from this week’s City Weekly I think sums up the earlier argument I had in the comments section:
HISS: Outrage Fatigue

The GOP Leadership’s public relations blitz leading up to the one year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina doesn’t change the fact that their response to Katrina was disastrous and failed to keep Americans safe.
The federal government’s immediate response to Katrina was marked by chaos, confusion and utter incompetence.
In the aftermath of the disaster, Administration and congressional [...]

This is yet another perfect example of why Republicans on the hill are going the wrong direction. Racism, bigotry and religious and ethnic discrimination seem to be no small part of being considered a leader in Utah’s Republican Legislators. This from an AP article on in the Deseret Morning News: Sen. Buttars Says Ruling Against [...]

“I’d rather be talking about this than all of the other things that Congress hasn’t done well,” one Republican congressional aide told AFP on condition of anonymity because of possible reprisals.
“Weeks before September 11th, this is going to play big,” said another White House official, who also spoke on condition of not being named, adding [...]

Just when we think we’ve heard it all….
In Michigan, in Warner Bros. v. Scantlebury, after learning that the defendant had passed away, the RIAA made a motion to stay the case for 60 days in order to allow the family time to “grieve”, after which time they want to start taking depositions of the late [...]

Washington, DC – Today, when asked about “giant loopholes” in our nation’s security, President Bush asked the reporter for the “specific loopholes” they were referring to. [President Bush, 8/14/06] His comments came less than a week after loopholes in our nation’s aviation security became clear when a major terror plot to blow up transatlantic flights [...]
