Mayor Rocky Anderson, The Salt Lake City Office of Economic Development and The Department of Community Development presents a panel discussion about “Creating a City of Lasting Value”

This event will be held at the Salt Lake City Main Library Auditorium on Friday, September 28th at 6:30pm

Noted Author and Urbanist Roberta Gratz will be speaking on “Cities Rebuilt, Cities Reborn, is there a difference?” This will be a highly visual presentation demonstrating successful strategies that enliven downtowns and spotlight the choices available to create a vibrant community.

The “Creating a City of Lasting Value” forum will interweave elements of responsible city planning with the City Creek Center development project. As members of this community, it is we who must decide how to shape the future of our downtown through urban design excellence, community dialogue, and environmental stewardship.

This event will also air on KCPW and be filmed to air later on SLCTV Channel 17.

Discussion Panel Includes:

· Max Smith speaking on architecture and the qualities of space
· Keith Bartholomew speaking on regional planning, the role and quality of the connections needed for a city to thrive.
· SLC Councilman Soren Simonsen
· Bill Williams, City Creek Reserve, Inc. (CCRI)
