From TPM and the Huffington Post:

Huffington first, because she’s a silver fox:

In recent weeks, Republican presidential candidates have found time in their busy schedules to speak or debate before the Republican Jewish Coalition, “Value Voters,” conservative Floridians, even Wyoming Republicans, who hold virtually no sway in the primary race. They’ve also agreed to appear at the CNN/YouTube debate they at one point shunned.

But it appears that some GOP frontrunners are once again letting an opportunity to appear before African-American voters lapse, just as they decided to sit out a black voter forum hosted last month by Tavis Smiley.

You know, I heard one of these GOP bozos babble about the percentages insofar as minority population numbers. They didn’t think that these sort of forums were important because the actual numbers of minority voters didn’t warrent a visit on the issues from GOP candidates. I guess the GOP still refuses to factor that there are a lot of white folks out there that get pretty pissed about this sort of voter-racial profiling.

Now Talking Points Memo:

The Huffington Post reports that the Congressional Black Caucus, which had earlier announced that it had scheduled a Republican Presidential debate on Fox News for November 4, has abruptly postponed the planned gathering.

The reason? None of the GOP candidates were willing to show up. A CBC spokesperson tells HuffPo that the candidates cited that oft-reached-for excuse: Scheduling conflicts. That’s the same excuse that the top GOP candidates used to get out of attending PBS’s planned debate with Tavis Smiley.

If it walks like a racist, and quacks like a racist, chances are it’s a GOP Presidential Candidate.
