So what was up with the long long long lines at the polls here in Salt Lake County? Why did our normally intelligent County Clerk, Sherrie Swenson, decide to combine the majority of the districts this election with no back-up plan in case they got swamped?

I went mid-afternoon and waited in line for a half hour. My best friend, who lives in my district, tried to go after work and found out that the line was 3 hours long, and therefore chose not to vote.

I’m planning on remembering those lines come her re-election bid…

JM, Godfrey hasn’t won yet. The margin was only 181 votes and they challenged about 140 Van Hooser supporters at the polls.

Provisional ballots are being counted (about 500) and the election isn’t being called until Tuesday.

It wasn’t a close vote, and I’ve never been more proud to be a Utahn. We beat our one-party, unrepresentative legislature. Well, maybe they represent Patrick Byrne but not us.
