So, yeah, I’m taking a break today from the blog, for the most part. There were a lot of great races yesterday and some really, really high points.

Ralph Becker won.

Luke Garrott won.

Beth Holbrook won.

JT Martin won.

Vouchers were waffle-stomped in all 29 counties in Utah. ALL OF THEM!

But, some low points were experienced yesterday as well.

Like this:

“I’m ashamed of Utah that this could even be a close vote,” said Patrick Byrne, CEO of Overstock.com, who has donated millions of dollars to support vouchers. “This is parents looking at their kids getting a third-rate education and other kids getting basically a death sentence and saying, ‘That’s OK by me.”‘

Byrne just guaranteed that I’ll never spend another penny at his website (and that means something, because I’ve spent thousands there over the years). I wonder how many Overstock Private Academies he’d planned on building?

Sometimes there are whiners, and that’s unavoidable.

Jordan School District will spilt.

Salt Lake City Police Department will continue in a crumbling building.

Godfrey won.

Gary Hart tells the painful truth about Democrats.

Overall a pretty good day, yesterday, but not without it’s low points.
