567 years ago, a terrorist named Johannes Gutenberg created a device capable of destroying the very fabric of civilization. This device is far more destructive than any nuclear bomb ever been. It has started wars. It has crumbled empires. It has split, divided, and even destroyed the faith of countless millions. It gave rise to “science”, helped form the foundation of “democracy”, and indeed gave voice and fame to the demon “Dr. Seuss”.
Fortunately for us, and by ‘us’ I mean the U.S., someone has been steadily making the perpetrators, advocates, and even fans of this heinous device and all the devices it has spawned criminals.
I applaud the U.S. Congress for taking a stand against this abomination, and all the improvements made on it since. The computer, the internet, podcasts, video, the video camera, the recorder, the cell phone, the VCR, TV, radio, INDEED fellow citizen, the very VOICE BOX you wrongly deem fit to use!
