Just one quibble: “If you want to pull over and get a few pictures and fight it traffic court, fine, chances are you’ll win because no one at the court wants to deal with it, not really.”

According to what Paul Rolly reports here: http://www.sltrib.com//ci_7492579 and corroborated here: http://www.sltrib.com//ci_7549722, Massey wouldn’t have stood a chance in the courts. But who knows, maybe the area Massey was in doesn’t have the same racket going on, but it’s doubtful.

Bah! Cop should be suspended for a week without pay. Jared should be tased again on principal. Why? Watch the video again. The cop gets him out of the car. Jared walks back with the cop and then sticks his hand in his pocket. His pocket on the opposite side of his body from where the cop is standing. The cop freaks and pulls his taser. And then… then Jared starts walking back to his car with his HAND STILL IN HIS POCKET. BZZZZT!
Now. For cops everywhere (and trooper Gardner in particular); The taser is a substitute for you engaging in personal combat with a person who might do you bodily harm. The taser is not a substitute for you having a limp-wrist. If you don’t think you can take down a ninny from the Abercrombie Summer Collection like Jared without resorting to a weapon, you need to quit. Because your a big fat pussy. You use the taser on people like JM Bell or myself, who are massive, powerful, and Godlike - people you couldn’t possibly hope to overpower otherwise. You don’t use it on an 80lb woman like Jared. Especially when his “significant other” is pregnant in the front seat.
… Unless the pregnant one is carrying your kid. Maybe there’s more to this story? Hmmm, Trooper? HMMM?!

I’m glad I am not the only one feeling this way. It is clear the the guy Massey was being a total jerk and the cop got fed up with it. Then he went over the line with the taser.

Now we have death threats being made and everything else.
