Mayor Rocky Anderson – VIDEO – These Disastrous Bush Years

Posted By on December 20, 2007

I am really going to miss Rocky being at the helm of Salt Lake City, and not just because he finds more value in me than Mayor-elect Ralph Becker does (that’d be “no value” in me from Mr. Becker, just so you know). Rocky’s headstrong willingness to challenge the status quo and break the bonds of Battered Wife Syndrome that plague nearly the entire membership of Utah’s elected officials, has been inspiring to watch.

Oh, and, here he goes again:

“President Bush has not only neglected cities, but has hurt our cities in such enormous ways.”

— Mayor Rocky Anderson

This is why I hope Rocky keeps visible after leaving the office.

Those so concerned with his outspokenness are simply afraid of having real debate about real issues in an effort to achieve real results. Our politicians have maintained the status quo for the better part of 30 years, and Rocky challenged that honorably.

His elevation of boat-rocking does a great service to our dialog, even for those who don’t agree with what he has to say. And his leadership in Salt Lake City cannot be ignored.

Tell him thanks, from all of us.
