Yes, that’s right folks, Senator John “Weather Vane” McCain (because he points where ever the wind blows) yesterday voted AGAINST a bill that would ban the CIA from waterboarding.

… the White House has long said Mr. Bush will veto the bill, saying it “would prevent the president from taking the lawful actions necessary to protect Americans from attack in wartime.”

Mr. McCain, a former prisoner of war, has consistently voiced opposition to waterboarding and other methods that critics say is a form torture. But the Republicans, confident of a White House veto, did not mount the challenge. Mr. McCain voted “no” on Wednesday afternoon.

Way to stick to your guns there, Johnny. If you knew the Occupier-in-Chief was going to veto it, why not sack-up and stand by your convictions? Five other Republican senators were able to vote yes to ban torture, why not you?
