There are many different types of people out there. Unfortunately one of the most populous types of people are stupid people. They have successfully infiltrated nearly every social political and religious group in the world.

The sheer number of the stupid people in the world alone is staggering, But when one realizes that most stupid people are very vocal (AKA "LOUD") about emphatically expressing "facts"

(AKA opinions that have little or no factual basis but are either stated as facts to hide the stupid ones ignorance, or even worse, opinions formed by reading biased, inaccurate, or even just incomplete or theoretical and convincing themselves that since they read it it must be the absolute truth and that anything else that even whispers a hint of disagreeance is to be treated as the wost type of blasphemy)

And that most of the media we see is produced by these stupid people, Terror for the future of man kind truly starts to set in.

Now A few things about myself. I am a Republican. Unfortunately no one group has a monopoly on stupidity and Republicans definitely have their fair share. My purpose in writing this is to "unstupidize" as many stupid people as I can no matter what political affiliation the may be.

Unlike Chaffetz, I have studied extensively in the subjects of the Environment Science, Pollution, Energy, both renewable and traditional, Geology, and many other such subjects. It is my livelihood as well as my passion. When it comes to the subject of global warming, there are few definitive answers, but there are some..

Is global warming happening? Yes

Is this a bad thing? There are benefits and disadvantages, as with most changes.

Is it global warming caused by the greenhouse effect? Possibly. The greenhouse affect allows life to exist on earth. Without it Earth would be a dead frozen planet. But it is a distinct possibility.

Is it global warming caused by man made greenhouse gases? Maybe. Water Vapor actually constitutes the vast majority of the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. CO2 is about 1%. The amount of CO2 mankind is responsible is very small it is at most a couple percent. In summary, Man made CO2 contributes only a tiny fraction of a percent to the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. However, Some scientists believe that this little amount has just the right properties to cause the global warming we are experiencing.

In summary,

Should we be careful about what we put out into the environment? YES

Should we do our best to conserve energy and research renewable energy sources? YES

Is the world going to end unless we take drastic measures suggested/demanded by many environmental activists who don't have a clue (AKA Al Gore) as to what they are talking about? Not a Chance

That is hilarious. The Utah Legislature obviously needs to get rid of the Utah Geologic Survey, because they themselves have all the answers. I'm sure oil companies will be lining up at the next Natural Resources Interim Committee Meeting to find out where they need to drill.

One thing for sure about Chaffetz, a helmut doesn't make you a real football player, any more than having attended college makes you a climatologist.
