Hello. My name is Jeff, and I’ve chosen to showcase the Caledonian Braves FC from the Scottish Lowland League (Tier 5). I’m new to football and have only been watching it sporadically for about three years. I played soccer as a kid, like most American kids did in the 1980s. I was going through a rough patch a couple of years ago and stumbled into football through the TV show Ted Lasso. Once I watched that series, I couldn’t get enough of European soccer, especially the Scottish Professional Football League. Something about Scots-style football, with Scottish announcers, really spoke to the Celtic warrior in my DNA.
The beautiful game saw me through a rough patch, and later, when things were better, I had the opportunity to buy a share of a wee, Scottish football club, The Caledonian Braves. Hanging on my wall is a certificate reflecting one single, solitary share of ownership in a soccer team from Scotland. It was like a little present to myself for making it through a rough year. Its meaning is symbolic, and its ownership is nothing more than $100.00 in hubris, but, for some reason, when I bought it, I took ownership as a fan of my new favorite team.
The Caledonian Braves are important to me and, insofar as this project lets me, even on a fictional level.
(This is a work of fiction. An exercise for class. Anyone stumbling upon this should know that it is not real.)
